European Agencies
Obvious locations such as Paris and Berlin host a multitude of digital and creative agencies, each with its own specialisations. Every man and his dog knows about London's often-parodied Shoreditch but you cannot deny the amount of creativity around the place. However, great agencies exist beyond the major cities such as Milan and Barcelona. Cities like Amsterdam have a strong showing, led by the Netherlands' forward-thinking approach to technology and lately, digital marketing.
Outside of the large capitals, European cities with surprisingly robust digital agency sectors include Spain's Valencia and Estonia's Tallinn. Similarly, smaller cities in countries such as Poland and North Macedonia are creating great agency environments in which more and more international brands are taking more seriously. Polish agencies are brushing-off their 'cheap white label' image, and now often win international business because of their skills, not just their pricing.
Since Covid, and how we now work much more away from offices, agencies no longer 'need' to be in the very largest cities to win business. It still helps, but not like it used to.
